Having recently launched the Food Shift Kitchen, formerly known as the Alameda Kitchen, a new initiative that will transform surplus food into nutritious products for the community while providing employment for the formerly homeless, we are now in need of some key supplies!
We’re aiming to be as resourceful and collaborative as possible in our search and that is why we need you! Take a look at our list below and please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to donate the item, donate $ to cover the cost of the item, or have connections in the restaurant, culinary, or corporate sponsorship world who might be able to support us!
We are on a search for some basic kitchen supplies including:
- Commercial Food Immersion Blender (donated by East Bay Restaurant Supply)
- Cutting Boards
- Commercial Dehydrator
- Chef Knife
- First Aide Kit
- Digital Thermometer
- Food Mill
- Wooden Stir Paddle
- Metal Mixing Bowl
- Plastic Gloves
- Measuring Cups
- Measuring Spoons
And in the near future as we bump up our production we’ll need some larger ticket items including:
- Auxiliary Refrigeration (external walk-in)
- Tilting Kettle
- Stock Pot
- Stock Chiller
- Desktop Computers (with Monitors and Keyboards)
We have the immediate need of acquiring some of these items within the next couple weeks, although we’re also interested in developing longer term relationships with local partners who are inspired by the Alameda Kitchen vision and who want to be part of making it a success.
We’ve attached links to examples of most items, but we are flexible on size & brand, and are equally happy to accept both used and new items.
