Food Shift will be participating in the Hotel Council of San Francisco’s seminar on June 24th at Recology Golden Gate. The seminar will bring together vendors, hotel staff, and community organizations to discuss how we can work together to reduce food waste and we are excited to be part of the conversation. It’s a step in the right direction. In San Francisco 1 in 4 residents are food insecure. There is no reason any good food should go to waste.
Food Shift’s Founder and Director Dana Frasz will talk about alternatives to food waste and even composting, by describing the process of working with Food Runners, CropMobster, and other food recovery groups. She will also focus on busting the “myth of liability” by sharing information about the Good Samaritan Food Act.
