Beth has dedicated her career to social enterprise, spending over 15 years in the nonprofit sector – over 10 of those in social enterprise. She has been recognized as a leader in the social enterprise sector as one of the American Express 50 Under 40, and inaugural member of the REDF Accelerator. She launched the Social Enterprise Alliance – Twin Cities chapter, where she served on the Executive Committee for 4 years.
Previously, she was the Business Development Manager for Goodwill/Easter Seals, writing business plans and feasibility studies for new social enterprise ideas. Beth was the Director of Operations/ General Manager with CityKid Java, a coffee wholesale social enterprise in South Minneapolis supporting Urban Ventures youth programs. She was also Director of Social Enterprise for Emerge Community Development in North Minneapolis, working across four social enterprises including mattress recycling, temporary staffing, manufacturing and used office furniture resale.
Currently, Beth is working with Midwest Special Services in the East side of St. Paul, developing a social enterprise incubator and community hub space to employ adults with disabilities. Beth also creates tools and resources for social entrepreneurs to change the world through the blog Social Good Impact.
Beth has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business degree from the University of Minnesota – Curtis L. Carlson School of Management in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and a Master of Business Administration from Bethel University.
