After testing the waters in the Northeast, South and Midwest, and after traveling in a car with 2 friends for over 4 months, Rose Slam! Johnson discovered the Bay Area and has been calling it home for 11+ years.
In 2009 Rose launched two community supported adventures; Apothocurious and Queer Camp. Both revolved around food, community and fun. Apothocurious boasted a weekly pedal-powered delivery service and a fully loaded kitchen on the back of a bicycle for mobile events while Queer Camp provided the nostalgia and fun of summer camp for Queer identified adults.
Driven by a love of equitable resource distribution and creativity, Rose joins the Food Shift team as Program Manager, committed to developing the job training program and expanding the catering services.
When there is spare time, Rose is an alchemist, architect, and a rooted community member who loves to travel, eat and make new friends.
