Tristram is the winner of the international environmental award, The Sophie Prize 2011, for his fight against food waste. Following the critical success of his first book, The Bloodless Revolution (2006), Tristram has become a renowned campaigner, working in several countries to help improve the environmental and social impact of food production. Since the release of his latest prize-winning book, Waste: Uncovering the Global Food Scandal (2009), and the first Feeding the 5000 event in 2009, Tristram has worked tirelessly to create the cultural shift necessary to drastically reduce food waste at every stage of the food supply system. Tristram has been instrumental in creating a global movement against food waste through his public campaigning, writing, speaking, engagement with governments and businesses, and via the extensive grassroots mobilization of Feedback, the charity he founded which governs the Feeding the 5000 campaigns, The Gleaning Network UK and The Pig Idea.
