Make a list and stick to it

1. Take Inventory. We often forget about that can of tomato sauce hiding in the back of the pantry or that neglected bag of mixed veggies chilling in the freezer door. Taking stock of what you already have can not only prevents duplicate purchases but also inspire new culinary creations (tomato vegetable soup, anyone?).

2. Buy only what you need–make a list and stick to it.

3. Buy local and organic to support soil, local farmers, and energy conservation.
