As a family, we have always tried to be conscientious about waste. The focus used to be just making sure we minimized the garbage and recycled as much as possible, buying things with less packaging, etc…. Ever since you first posted about food waste, it has made me more aware of the food that gets wasted in our house. Yesterday, as I was shopping for groceries, I really thought about buying only what I knew we would use in the next few days. I picked 3 days as a place to start. What that means is that I bought only what I thought we would eat in the next three days. I imagine I will adjust this based on how things work out, but the goal really is to eat everything we buy, and waste as little, if any, as possible.
